La Pupusa Loca, originally a mom and pop business, was first established by my grandparents over 30 years ago. Our first Pupusa Loca, located in the heart of West New York on 59th and Bergenline avenue, was one of the first Salvadoran Restaurants around the area and the first to successfully master the art of making our extremely popular, one of as kind pupusas, hence our name.
So you may be wondering; What Are Pupusas? Pupusas, are a traditional Salvadoran delight, a thick, handmade corn tortilla, filled with fresh herbs and oozing cheese, pork, beans or loroco. Tender on the inside and crunchy outside, our pupusas are the real deal. We also have various menu options for our vegetarian customers. In addition to the pupusas (we know you can’t wait to try them now), the Holidays are a special time at La Pupusa Loca. We create especially designed menus for various occasions, such as: Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s, Thanksgiving, and even New Years. Customers can place their orders ahead of time for fresh tamales and pupusas, perfect for entertaining at home.
We specialize in providing the best customer service with a unique and distinct ambiance in the West New York area. Our homemade Sangria is a must, and we also offer Natural Salvadoran drinks such as: Horchata, Tamarindo, Marañon, Maracuya, Chan, and Cebada. Weekends, we even provide Live Music and Karaoke, which is always fun and enjoyed by all of our customers. Be sure to stop by and experience a traditional Salvadorian cuisine and get to enjoy our recently renovated location!
